OOTD: My Carnaby Shopping Challenge

Don’t you just love those pockets of London where all the cool independent stores are? I rarely go shopping on Oxford Street, but I am often just behind it, on Carnaby Street and the surrounding streets. After all, this is where you find all the coolest stores; Monki, Lazy Oaf, Cheap Monday, Barbour, American Apparel, ElevenParis, Dr Martens and so many more. In fact, it’s such a great area, that some of these brand only have one UK shop and they chose to open it here. Many of the others have their flagship stores here. That’s kind of impressive!

Carnaby Shopping Party 

Carnaby Street has a rich history, it was the geographical heart of the Swinging 60’s and it is just as relevant now as it was then. It’s a great location, as it is just behind Oxford Circus and super easy to get to and it’s impossible to get lost trying to get there (am I the only one who struggles to find Notting Hill Market when I get off the tube at Notting Hill Gate?!) They also host really fun shopping evenings once in a while too, where there is DJ’s, drinks, nibbles, discounts and fun activities. The next one is on the 28th May, there will be a 20% discount at most of the stores and it will be a great evening! My Picks

Whilst I was shopping in the Carnaby area, I picked up this super cute dress from Lazy Oaf, I love the smock shape and the print. It’s easy to wear, really comfortable and super fun. Lazy Oaf is literally one of the cutest shops in London and visiting is a *must*! My duster coat is from Monki, it was a real steal price-wise, I picked it because I know I will be able to wear it loads during the summer. It updates every Summer dress and has a really smart, modern look without being too warm on hot days! As for my boots, well they are by the super cool shoe brand Vagabond and available at Office. I have blogged about my love of Vagabond before, they are really cool designs and really comfortable. As for my bag, I got it on sale at American Apparel, it isn’t avilable online, so if you want one, you have to go to the Carnaby Street store, where they had a good selection. I love the simple pouch design and it cost less than £10! Yikes!
