Fashion: How to rock a clear clutch bag!

There are some pretty badass clear clutch bags (and handbags in general) around at the moment. Whilst they seem like a great idea in the shop, and look amazing in magazines, they can prove a little tricker in reality as the insides of our handbags, generally isn’t so cute. So what’s a girl to do?

Well, first of all, a clear handbag is not for every day, it’s only for special occasions. You have to pack your bag accordingly and put a little effort into ‘dressing’ your handbag, just as you take effort to dress yourself!

Make-up

Just carry around the essentials and make sure they look clean and fresh. If the packaging is cute, it’s a bonus! I have packed Soap & Glory blusher, not only a lovely product, but the packaging is a dream! My eyeliner is by Eyeko and my lipstick is by Barry M.

Sunglasses

I normally store my sunglasses in the case, but on this occasion, I suggest leaving the case at home and carefully placing the sunglasses in the clutch. If you don’t have keys loose in your bag, they should be safe. Most of the time they will be on my face anyway!! My sunglasses are classic Ray Ban Wayfarers, you just can’t go wrong with these bad boys!

Essentials

Make sure your coin purse is cute, mine is the Bleach London jelly purse! The pink glitter purse is by Betty Brice and it contains my keys, cash card and oyster card. All these things are quite unsightly, so hide them inside a cute purse! Pretty purses look great in a clear handbag and they are perfect for storing anything you don’t want to show; tampons, chewing gum, medication.

A clear handbag is not meant to be a serious fashion statement, so have some fun with it; make it colourful and playful, I don’t normally carry around a pack of Fizz-Wiz, but it looked really cute and unexpected, it’s also a bit of a conversation piece!
