Fashion: Perfect Ballet Pumps

A classic pair of ballet pumps is a wardrobe staple. They can be worn from Spring to Autumn and paired with everything from shorts and trousers, to dresses and skirts. Every girl should have a pair right? Right! But until a few weeks ago, I had a ballet pump shaped hole in my wardrobe!

Pretty much every fashion and shoe shop you go into will sell ballet pumps. My problem was that none of them were perfect. In my mind, a ballet flat is such a simple and classic design, I didn’t want to settle for something not quite right. I wanted the perfect shaped toe, the simple string bow, the grosgrain ribbon trim in the exact shade of nude. When a design is so simple, I think it needs to be spot on. For me, it’s the difference between a plain shoe and an elegant pump.

A few weeks ago, I found my dream pair of ballet pumps. They are by French Sole, the style is called India and the colour is Nude. They are the perfect shape, fit, finish and made from super soft leather. They are chic, elegant and practical!

If nude isn’t your thing, French Sole have plenty of other colours to choose from, as well as prints. They also have some extra designs such as smoking slippers and brogues. In terms of fit, I would say if you are a half size, go bigger rather than smaller, as they come up slightly snug and it is also good to consult the fit guide. This is really helpful as it will give you guidance on if the style will work for you based on your arches and width (and even if you have bunions) as well as your personal preference on toe cleveage. It’s a really handy tool to help you select the right pair of shoes!

I love my new French Sole shoes, what do you think of them?

Those just took me back to my childhood ballet slippers aka I LOVE THEM! I have a huge problem finding the perfect ballet pumps. I have bunions and if the vamp isn’t high enough or if the leather is too soft then they wind up looking awful on me.
