Sometimes I leave the house with nothing, other times I leave the house with everything… Recently, I have been a bit of a bag lady, in fact, one day, I actually wore two handbags!
I thought it was about time I emptied my handbag and told you a little more about what’s inside. I always think the items which make it into my handbag are pretty important as there is only so much I want to carry around and everything in there has earned it’s place!
Handbag
First of all, let’s talk about the handbag! I don’t know what it is, but I love a good cloud print! When I saw this Cath Kidston beauty, I knew I had to have it. The beautiful shade of blue paired with the crisp white and delicate birds, it’s just so pretty! The bag is made predominantly of matte coated canvas with leather detailing, making it really playful yet slick!
Tech
When I’m out and about at meetings, I often stop off for coffee and to do some work on my iPad. I prefer working off a big screen but sometimes I just don’t want to carry the added weight in my bag. For the last couple of days I have been leaving my iPad at home and scooping up my iPhone charger instead. I may have put the cute bear sticker on it to deter my boyfriend away from taking this spare charger to work with him! As for the headphones, these are my new favourite thing! They are called Diamond Tearz and they are made by Monster. They muffle out all background noise on public transport and the sound quality is amazing. They fold up nice and small and they have the coolest iridescent finish on them! Obsessed? Yes, I am!
Fold Away Shoes
A couple of days ago I was shooting a campaign with a brand, I was standing around for hours and wearing monster heels. By the time the shoot was done my feet were aching, so I pulled these Cocorose fold-away shoes out of my bag slipped them on. What a lifesaver!
Jewels
I know it sounds crazy, but I always carry around a few spare pieces of jewellery with me. Sometimes I leave the flat with the intension of just going to one quick press day and then a couple of hours later I find myself going to an impromptu meeting or meeting a friend. Even if you are wearing your scruffiest clothing, if you put on a little jewellery, it makes it look like you are being scruffy on purpose. My current favourite jewellery is my Anchor & Crew, a super cool line of nautical inspired jewellery. It is all made in England and it is unisex so it has a nice tough feel to it.
Sunglasses
I own a lot of pairs of sunglasses, so I try to rotate them frequently so that none of them feel left out. My current pair are these pink beauties by Boden. The candy pink is so cute yet the frames are oversized and fabulous!
Phone Case
I’m one of the rare people in London who likes to start conversations with strangers. The other day I was on the tube and I was chatting to a man who turned out to be actor Tom Hindleson. I had no idea who he was or why people were taking sneaky photos of him (at first I thought they were taking them of me, so I did a few hair flips!). He told me my phone case was crazy, I told him him it was Moschino and it was fabulous. This phone case is fabulous, It’s going to be a sad day when I upgrade to the iPhone 6.
Make-up
I tend not to carry too much make-up around with me, usually eyeliner, lipstick and powder. I’m surprised neither were the eyeliner or powder were in my bag today, but I have three lipsticks with me. I’m addicted to lipstick, I love big full lips and I love bright colours. I currently have Smashbox Legendary (Red), Smashbox Ultra Violet lip lacquer and BarryM hot pink with me. The violet isn’t a colour I would usually wear but it looks amazing with the pink sunglasses, the Smashbox red is an all time favourite of mine and the Barry M pink is just a really fun hot pink which I have had for years, but it is still going strong!
Perfume
I often carry around a tiny bottle of perfume with me, just in case I am heading to an appointment and I feel like I want to smell a little more fabulous than I feel. I never carry around a big bottle, I always make sure it’s tiny and light, my current handbag perfume is Charm Rose by Thomas Sabo, it’s really fresh and it doesn’t clash with any of my other perfumes, so it is nice as a top up scent. It smells like citrus and summer breeze. It’s fresh without being girly and sweet.
Beauty Products
I always make sure I have a lip balm with me, which at the moment is PapayaGold Paw Paw. My friend Louise always raves about this stuff, but until recently, it’s not been sold in the UK. It’s now available on our fair island and I rushed out to get myself a tube. It’s pretty good! I also always carry around hand cream as in the Winter I get really dry hands. My current hand cream is by L’erbolario, it soaks in fast, it keeps my hands hydrated and it smells of roses!
What’s in your handbag?
This was such an interesting post! The natural nosiness in me thinks it’s always cool to see what’s in people’s bags!
