Travel: Paris favourites

aspinal of london passport holder

This weekend I packed light and headed off to Paris, after all, it’s Paris! You want to save luggage space for all your purchases! So I packed up a little tech, jewels, clothes and beauty products and grabbed my Aspinal of London passport holder (with passport inside of course!) and headed off to the Eurostar… Here are my Paris favourites!

kipling suit case troll pink

Suitcase

I have a new mini suitcase trolly by Kipling. It’s perfect for weekends away as it’s a small size and the bulk of the trolly is made of canvas, so it’s really light to carry around. The thin canvas also means that there is no wasted space of padding which is perfect when you are only packing clothes. Oh and the pink colour, is cute too!

knomo backpack black unisex

Backpack

I can’t go anywhere without a little tech, so I have a Knomo backpack which is padded on the inside and perfect for travelling. There are lots of subsections within the backpack, so you can tuck away your iPad, phone, jewellery and everything else in little pockets and know they are safe. I didn’t even need to bring an iPad case as the lining is soft and so protective that I felt my tech was safe to just put inside.

When I’m not carrying my tech and valuables in this backpack, it just looks like a chic handbag which is perfect for cities. It’s a unisex style, so I can use it, or lend it to my boyfriend. The main bulk of the fabric is nylon so it’s nice and light, but the leather detailing gives it an edge of luxury and the marking of ‘Knomo’ is really slick too.

origins mini skin care products

Beauty

Packing light can be hard. Especially when it comes to beauty products, so I have kept mine easy and space saving by packing travel minis. This Christmas I got a set of Origins products which I was desperate to use, but I knew would be perfect for travelling, so I used a little self control! For everything else I needed, I have packed some mini sizes which came free with magazines. My perfume is by the Library of Fragrance, it is called Fig Leaf. It is a beautiful single scent perfume, which you would normally later up with other scents in their range, but I love this one worn alone. Because it is just a 30ml bottle, it is the perfect size for travelling.

chanel pearls with french jumper

Capsule Wardrobe

I kept my clothes really simple, mostly ASOS black dresses and black jumpers which can be dressed up with accessories. Black cotton jersey dresses are easy to wear, comfortable and always fit into that smart/casual bracket. Wear with a simple jumper or jacket in the day and wear with pearls and heels for the evening. Easy! My Pearls are by Chanel and my jumper is by 0039 Italy.

pink boden sunglasses

Accessories

Clutch bags are a great evening option when traveling, especially the flat pouch style ones. I have this Kenzo one with me (now out of stock, but check stores like StyleJump for something similar) and I love the print and the monochrome colours. It’s also tiny and light so perfect for packing light. I also have a handful of scarves, as they are light and oh-so-chic in Paris! And of course a few necklaces, like my Chanel Pearls. Since my outfits are quite plain, it’s good to have plenty of accessories. As for these candy pink sunglasses, they are by Boden and they have barely left my face recently!

charlotte olympia cat shoes

Shoes

I always limit myself to 2 pairs of shoes when I’m only going away for a few days. One pair that I can walk for miles in and one pair of flats one pair of (sensible) heels. My shoes of choice are Charlotte Olympia Kitty Flats and Hush Puppies heeled boots (this style is available from Schuh). The boots are perfect for meals out and if we take a walk after, they are pain-free!

monster diamond tears headphones

Tech

Of course I travelled with my iPad and iPhone, but I also brought along my Monster Diamond Tears headphones. Not only do they look insanely cool, but they sound incredible and block out all the sounds of crying children on the Eurostar! Seriously, have you ever seen a pair of headphones which is more beautiful than these?!
