The McArthurGlen Group is pretty huge, they have six locations in the UK and many more around Europe. Their aim is to bring their customers a great shopping experience at great stores which are on sale all the time. There is something for every budget at McArthurGlen, each location has different stores and range from affordable, yet great quality brands like Clarks, to luxury brands like Mulberry.
Ashford Designer Outlet
There are over 80 boutiques at Ashford Designer Outlet, from beauty to fashion, jewellery to shoes, Chocolate to toys and a whole lot of restaurants and cafes too! My personal favourite stores include, Molton Brown, Clarks, Links of London, Crabtree & Eveyln, Jaeger, Le Creuset, Next, Sunglass Hut, Levis, Barbour and Ralph Lauren. There are many more stores scheduled to open in the near future too.
Ashford Designer Outlet is located in Kent, but it is super close to London. I got there by train which took about 45 minutes from St Pancras and then just a 5 minute walk from the train station to discount shopping!
At Ashford Designer Outlet, the shops are on sale all all year, most are being sold at about 60% off the original price. As if that isn’t enough, you can sign up to the Privilege Club to get an extra 10% off.
I got on the train at London St Pancras with a nice hot Starbucks and by the time I drank it, I was at Ashford International! As soon as you get to Ashford Designer Outlet, you see the information centre, which is where you can pick up your Privilege Club discount card. The shops are laid out in a big circle so you can do the loop and if you drive, you can park in the middle.
The first shop I stopped in was Clarks, I had a good peek around and I found some of the Clarks X Orla Kiely shoes from their SS14 collaboration along with some of their classic lace up brogues and loafers that I love. Clarks is a great value brand, but at Ashford Designer Outlet it is even better value.
Next I found myself in the Lindt Chocolate shop, I may have been shopping for fashion, but when there is a store with this much chocolate in, I have to stop by! I may have bought myself a little chocolate bunny ready for easter!
I buy nearly all my Sunglasses from Sunglass Hut and I spent about an hour trying on different pairs in their shop. They had all the brands I love, Miu Miu, Tom Ford, Ray Ban, D&G, it was so good it was kind of overwhelming! I went back in about four times as I just couldn’t decide on which pair I wanted the most.
I also spent a long time in Ralph Lauren who have a beautiful store there, it is really nicely merchandised with lots of friendly sales assistants on hand to help out. I bought myself a beautiful silk twill scarf, it’s a Classic Ralph Lauren equestrian theme and it has hand rolled edges. It’s really lovely, I couldn’t resist it!
Another great shop I found was the Levi’s store. They had some amazing menswear pieces, which my boyfriend would have loved, if he had come with me shopping. They even have the odd piece from the Levi’s Vintage range, which is really incredible!
I spent quite a lot of time in the Links of London shop, they had so many amazing pieces of jewellery, from rings to statements necklaces, tiny pendants to watches, it was pretty amazing. They also had an amazing array of their signature Friendship bracelets. I bought myself a friendship bracelet as I have been wanting one for a while and then just as I was leaving, I spied a super cool friendship bracelet with a watch face. I had to have that too!
Next I headed off to Molton Brown for a shower gel for my boyfriend and Crabtree & Eveyln for some hand cream. Both stores had an amazing selection of their signature products in, I was a very happy lady!
Finally, I headed off to Le Creuset as I love their pots and pans. I’m not much of a cook, but my kitchen is filled with this Le Creuset. Everything in the Le Creuset store is slight seconds, but it is just the odd imperfection, nothing drastic. It’s great to be able to get their classic cook wear at a discounted price as these pieces will last you for years and years! Le Creuset isn’t just pretty to look at, it’s also a dream to cook with!
Phew! I’m shattered! I had such an amazing day and I’m so happy with everything I bought! Thank you to McArthurGlen for inviting me down to visit Ashford Designer Outlet. I had the most fun day and I will be back very soon!
