#FWIS is a fun way of taking a photo for social media. It’s kind of a selfie, but it’s looking down. It’s a nice way to capture your clothes, shoes and jewellery. Some people also use it to capture their food or where they are (poolside, park, festival, cafe… you name it!). I’m not so into the selfie phenomenon, instead, I love a flatlay and I love a FWIS shot. I thought it would be a fun way to show off my new Anchor & Crew Jewellery.
Anchor & Crew Jewellery
Anchor & Crew are is a British rope and leather accessory brand that combines Great British naval heritage with great design. Anchor & Crew take inspiration from mechanical and nautical objects, and recreate them into jewellery, using a lot of the functions of the real objects in the jewellery, for instance, the pulley is used to fasten the bracelet.
Masculine / Feminine
So often nautical themed jewellery can look a little cutesy and girly, but Anchor & Crew is different, as it is a unisex brand. The ropes and knots are nice and chunky and the shapes of the anchors, wheels and detailing is strong and simple. I really love the clever use of the anchors, pulleys and knots to fasten the jewellery and the authentic feel of the ropes. Each piece is handmade in the UK and the craftsmanship involved is beautiful. If you follow their instagram account, you can see pictures of pieces being made in their studio which is really interesting.
I love my Anchor & Crew jewellery, which is your favourite piece?
