I may have said it once or twice before, but I am a huge fan of the French perfumers Diptyque. I have their scented wax blocks hanging in my wardrobe: every time I open the doors, I get a magical hit of Roses. My boyfriend has a similar scented block in his wardrobe of the signature scent, 34 Boulevard Saint Germain hanging in his wardrobe. Sometime I like to open his wardrobe just to get a hit of it, I love it so much!
I used to wear Figuier all the time and I have been meaning to buy a new bottle of it for ages and the same goes for 34 Boulevard Saint Germain for my boyfriend. In short, Diptyque scents are beautiful and both me and my man, love them.
I was recently lucky enough to be invited to the press launch of their new scent, Diptyque Florabellio and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!
First of all, I have to point out; this packaging is stunning. Diptyque Have nailed the art of chic and Modern packaging and this bottle of Florabellio is a dream. It’s no wonder ever blogger loves to Instagram their bottles of Diptyque perfume and their empty candle jars are rinsed out and saved to store their blusher brushes.
There is so much more to Diptyque than beautiful packaging and so it’s time to talk about the perfume! Florabellio is beautiful, it is inspired by an olfactory landscape, which is an amazing concept for a perfume. It is all about past and present meeting, think the nostalgia of sea salt and sea fennel. Summer days with apples and orange blossom. Blended with roasted coffee and sesame. All very familiar smells and all triggering off memories in the mind. This perfume is really beautiful, it’s quite light and quite subtle, personally I can smell the sea salt and apples, mixed with a gentle hum of old books.
If you are not a fan of heavy ouds and ambers and you like something a little more outdoorsy and subtle, then you will love the freshness and subtly of this perfume. It smells like an afternoon walking along a windy beach sharing memories.
