Dad’s Choice: Crabtree & Evelyn

Last year I bought my dad a few things from Crabtree & Evelyn and he absolutely adored them. I normally opt for L’occitaine for him, but last year I switched to Crabtree & Evelyn for a change. The thing about dad’s (and men in general) they pretend not to be bothered by skin care and scents, but actually, they love it just as much as women do, you just have to choose the fragrance carefully. Crabtree & Evelyn have a great selection of scents for both men and women, so with the success of last years gift, I headed to Crabtree & Evelyn once again! 

In my experience of gift shopping for men, it doesn’t matter what age they are, they all tend to like items that they can use. Be it cufflinks or tools, garments or skin care, it has to be useful to them. Unlike us girls, we tend to be happy with items like we may not use so often, but are ‘nice to have’!

Last year, I got my dad a Crabtree & Evelyn soap, hand cream and candle. My mum tends to buy more feminine scented soaps, so I think my dad really enjoyed having a more masculine scented soap in the morning. As for the hand cream, he really enjoyed this, as he spends a lot of time outdoors walking his dog and his hands do get dry with the cold. The candle was a real experiment if I am honest, I think I panicked and wasn’t sure what else to buy him, but I was shocked at how much he enjoyed it. It’s funny, I wouldn’t normally think to buy my dad a scented candle, but he really loved it! He lit it when he was in his office and he was super careful with it as he enjoyed it so much. While my mum scents the house with Jo Malone Diffusers in more feminine scents, I think he really enjoyed having his own scent in his office.

This year I ordered more Crabtree & Evelyn for him, I’m a bit disappointed the candle has sold out already (it’s my own fault, I left it too late!) but I have found him some other bits and pieces I thought he would like. I went for mostly Lavender scents as I know he loves them, but I also got him a couple of items in Verbena and Lavender as my boyfriend assured me he would like them!
