Classic Clinique

I grew up using Clinique make up and skincare. It was always my mother’s favourite beauty brand and she insisted I had to treat my skin carefully. I always loved their products, but when I had to start buying my own beauty products, I often ended up cutting corners and cutting costs. It’s only in recent years I have gone back to the brand, when they launched the Chubby sticks. It reminded me how much I love Clinique and since then I have become a bit hooked on their products, all over again. The colours are perfect, the packaging is simple yet elegant. The Chubby sticks are perfect for throwing in your bag and applying on the go, the lipsticks last all day with perfect colour and the mascara is effective and comfortable on on lashes (I hate heavy, sticky mascaras so much!!)

For me, Clinique make-up works. I feel like they are perfect for my skin tone and colouring. The shades of lipsticks are always exactly what I want; the texture, coverage and colour is great. The hot pinks are hot pink, the reds are a perfect shade of red. They make my lips look fuller and they last well. Not too matte, not too shiny. Just right!

The Chubby sticks are super fun to use, they last well and they are perfect for the gal on the go. There is something really carefree and fun about applying them and they are just slightly lighter than a lipstick.

I’m also a massive fan of the blushers, for me, the colours are pretty and fresh. I feel like Clinique are all about pretty, fresh colours which are perfect for blonde girls like me who like to keep make up fresh yet colourful, with formulas which are classic and proven to work. Oh and now you can get Chubby stick blushers… amazing!

Which is your favourite classic brand of make up?

I haven’t tried Clinique, myself, but I love the old The Balm products. 🙂

I feel exactly the same about Yves Sain Laurent!! My very first “grown up” lipstick was from that brand and we had a love story ever since 😀 I really like Clinique too tho, and I even prefer Clinique’s mascara to YSL’s one 🙂

I was always lukewarm about Clinique for whatever reason but I love their Chubby Sticks line and their blushes are the only ones I use. I am not the most apt at applying blush but the Cheek Pops are full-proof!

Their lipstick tube is a satisfying design. It is nice to have a bit of ‘art’ in your bag.

YSL on the whole. However I believe all brands have their good and bad points. IClinique are good at simple packaging and I like some of Clinique’s cosmetics (i swear by their eyeshadows and Perfectly Real foundation) but I’m not 100% on their chubby cheek/lip stuff. I’m leading towards more gimmick than substance. Same with the cheek petal blush. Take away the 3d flower and I doubt they’d be so hyped.
