Momocreatura

I have been a fan of Momocreatura jewellery for a few years now. I first saw the unique designs in the Shoreditch boutique, Luna & Curious. Luna & Curious is a really cool store who always have interesting and beautiful items by really cool designers and artists.

I have a necklace by Momocreatura and I love it, it’s a bear hanging in chains and when I’m not sure what to wear, I wear the bear! I have been meaning to write this post for a while, as I really want to tell you all a little more about Momocreatura and the designer behind the brand!

Momoko was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan. Kyoto is the cultural heart of Japan, rich with japanese history and heritage. She studied art here and then moved to Tokyo to study jewellery design. She worked as a jewellery designer in Tokyo for a few years before heading to London to do an MA in jewellery design at Central Saint Martins.

As a child Momoko spent hours and hours emerging herself in books; Fairy tales, myths and fantasy. These stories inspire her work, as does both Japanese and European culture. Her work is macabre yet playful, with childhood references. Each piece is intricately handcrafted like a miniature sculpture in her London studio and sold directly to her customers online or in some of the worlds coolest boutiques. Alexa Chung is a fan and Momocreatura has been featured in publications like Vogue, Grazia & Sunday Times Style.

I like the concepts but shot/hung animals are too much for my taste. 🙁

Although the subject matter is a bit too dark for me, I appreciate the craftsmanship and uniqueness of these pieces. Nice post & thank you for liking my recent Chanel Bow Sunglasses post!

This is sick and cruel beyond belief as if there isn’t enough animal cruelty without this kind of retarded and wicked stuff going on you should all be ashamed of yourselves especially whomever is responsible for the idea in the first place. And the ones responsible for making this crap you are not craftsmen so don’t kid yourself.
