A very happy Saturday!

Bethnal Green is a Starbucks blackspot, I feel like it is the only area of London which doesn’t have a ‘bucks on every corner, which is pretty annoying as this morning I had a real hankering for a white chocolate mocha. Luckily for me, my man drove me down to Whitechapel for a take-out treat!

I love to walk round the local area, so we headed to Broadway market to find something nice for lunch, I wore my trusty Converse trainers with my brand new Converse backpack. I love the pastel green colour, it’s even better when I have pale pink hair! Plus a backpack is super handy for carrying around all our groceries.

I love Broadway market, it’s super close to our flat and it has a bit of everything, vintage clothes, lots of fresh food, cakes, meats, cheese and stalls selling freshly prepared artisan foods, as well as local designers selling their clothes, jewellery and accessories! It’s a lot of fun, if you haven’t been, it’s worth a visit!

We also had a pretty lucky find at at a vintage stall, a checked Barbour shirt and Barbour jumper for £5 each, amazing right? It might not be the best weather for it, but we are happy to store them in our wardrobe until winter, especially at that price!

After lunch we continued to walk round our local area and somehow I found myself in the Anya Hindmarch Hackney store and I left with a new bag. I didn’t mean to, but it seemed too good to leave there. Not only is it beautiful leather with a really cool finish, but it’s nice and practical! Here it is, what do you think?

Our lovely saturday didn’t stop there, as we headed into Central London for drinks and dinner at the famous Quaglino’s. My man has been here on business a few times and it has an incredible reputation, this was my first visit to the restaurant. It didn’t disappoint, it was incredible! We met up with friends in the bar to enjoy Belini’s together. This month Quaglino’s are celebrating Chelsea Flower Show with botanical inspired Belini’s which come with with real flowers and complimenting meringues made by the super cool Meringue Girls. I personally loved the rose Belini, which had a tiny rose floating around on top and I ate the coconut meringue to go with it! Yums!

I had an incredible Thai beef salad to start with, it was so good! Fresh, zesty full of flavour with the most tender beef. Since it was a salad, the beef was served rare, it was such an amazing cut of meat, it was perfect rare. So tender and delicious!quaglino's restaurant mayfair

While I was enjoying my salad, my man was munching away on incredible fresh langoustine. It was beautifully presented on ice, with all implements you need to crack them open and enjoy. They were fresh, juicy and delicious. Each course came with an accompanying wine, which was incredibly well selected to compliment our food. I would always rather have water than a wine that jars with the meal, so it was wonderful having the perfect wine for our courses! They were incredibly well selected!

For main I had steak and my man had veal, again incredibly well presented and a delicious tender piece of meat. We shared some sides, chips and a tomato salad, both were delicious and really reasonably priced for the quality of the food.

For desert we shared the creme brûlée and fresh berries pavlova. I got nuts for meringue and even though I had eaten Meringue kisses with my cocktails, I wanted more meringue in my dessert. The portions were generous and if they hasn’t been so delicious I could have shared one between us. But when deserts taste this good, you want to have two halves of two portions! We had incredible desert wines to compliment our food, which was again, spot on! To finish we had fresh mint tea which was the perfect end to a delightful evening.

Quaglino’s is beautiful, the service is amazing and the food is wonderful, but something I also loved, was that the acoustics in the restaurant are spot on. The live pianist and singer performed all night, so there was always a set level of noise. The tables were a good distance apart so we never heard anyone’s conversation, nor did we feel others could hear ours. There was the general hum of noise and chatter, but no particular sounds which are distracting. We loved the friendly, yet fine, service and especially considering the restaurants location, it is incredibly friendly, welcoming and good value for money. I love Quaglino’s and I see why my man is a repeat visitor, I hope I return soon too, as I really loved it!

If you have never been to Quaglino’s, you really must. It’s a beautiful venue in the heart of London’s Mayfair. It is seeped with history and they service is top-notch. The decor is beautiful and the food and drinks are incredible!

So what did I wear? I am so excited I got to wear my new Rose Gold DKNY from Watchstation, I am so happy with this watch. It has everything I want, a touch of glamour and a chunky boyfriend style design. I am kind of feeling DKNY right now, I think the brand are having a bit of a ‘moment’. I paired it with some gold heart shaped rings and my Chanel black leather clutch bag.

I kept my dress simple, an ASOS black skater dress, it’s super comfortable in jersey, perfect for my dinner plans and dressed it up with Chanel Pearls and Charlotte Olympia spider web flats. I always think you can’t go wrong with black and comfort is good when dining too, so let the accessories make the statement. My man wore a navy trouser from Jaeger with a white tailored shirt, Church’s brogues and Omega watch. The general dress code in Quaglino’s is fairly smart and dressy, it is in Mayfair, so think chic and no sportswear! The men were wearing trousers with a shirt and maybe a casual blazer. If they wore jeans, they were smart jeans with a tucked in shirt, and a nice brogue or loafer. The women were all very elegant, again smart and well presented, I saw a lot of really beautiful jewellery, shoes and bags. The style was very tasteful and smart; simple dresses, blazers, clutch bags, sensible heels and nice jewellery. It’s not the kind of place where you see platforms and body-con dresses, nor do you see jeans and a casual tee shirt. Think smart but comfortable. Chic and stylish, it is a friendly and welcoming venue and not at all stuffy.

I have had such a wonderful day, from Broadway Market to Mayfair, I hope you all had a very happy Saturday too!
