This week has been pretty crazy, it has been London Fashion Week, so I have been running around working, blogging and also preparing for a trip to New York. Fashion Week is always fun, it is busy and exciting and at the end you feel pretty tired. I took some photos, and I thought I would pop them in a blog post as a round up of the week.
At LFW, one particular jewellery designer took my fancy, Sarah Angold; I have seen her jewellery on display in the V&A shop and I think she is kind of amazing, my friend High Heels & Record Deals is obsessed with her jewellery and it is very easy to see why. Her stand at the exhibitions was amazing and I couldn’t resist taking photos to show you all her beautiful art deco and geometric shapes.
Also at the exhibition at London Fashion Week I spied my favourite scarf designer, Cleo Ferin Mercury. Her AW14 collection is incredible, it is all themed around the Circus; Trapeze artists, Elephants, Tigers, Pierrot’s and big top tents! AMAZING! If you don’t know her scarves, it is really time for you to check them out!
The weather was pretty dire in London this week, which made me a bit sad, as I was desperate to wear my Chanel boots with my tartan cape. Oh well! I swear, DHC must have known it would have been rain storms all week, as on Day 1 of LFW a package dropped through my door which contained an umbrella, waterproof mascara and waterproof eyeliner. All these items came in pretty handy as it rained pretty much non-stop. Thanks DHC! You guys are lifesavers!
Orla Kiely also predicted the rain-showers, as their presentation was all themed around rain! Rainy music, projected lights to look like rain and models gracefully ‘sheltering’ from the rain under folded newspapers and umbrellas. The presentation was beautiful, I can’t wait for their AW14 collection to hit the shops, nor can I wait for the next collaboration with Clarks! I showed support for Orla Kiely at the presentation by wearing my Hedgehog print Orla Kiely dress.
Debenham’s press room was magically transformed into a mini beauty salon, where press and bloggers could drop in and get their hair, nails and make up refreshed in between shows. I was lucky enough to be invited to this, and it was such a treat, especially with the bad weather. I was able to get my hair restyled when I got windswept and I got my make up done before a drinks appointment with a brand too. Essie were on hand for manicures, Urban Decay did the make up and Regis were styling hair. It was such a treat to be able to take 30 minutes in a quite place, have a drink and a snack and get your look refreshed! Thanks for having me Debenham’s! Oh and isn’t the jewelled Clutch bag amazing? That’s from Debenham’s too!
Penhaligon’s was the official scent of London Fashion Week, so to show my support, I wore my favourite Penhaligon’s scent all week; Cornubia. Penhaligon’s have a new scent launching soon, Tralala, it is inspired by the world of Meadham Kirchhoff, who also showed their AW14 collection at London Fashion Week. The show was streamed live and it is an incredible collection. The show of course reflected the scent in terms of the scented catwalk as well as the giant heart shapes on the catwalk… fabulous! Yes, I am obsessed!
Swatch had a presence at London Fashion Week this season, showing off their new collection of treat inspired watches, sprinkles, macaroons, candy necklaces. It was super cute and the ladies in the van were giving bags of sweets away all week! Yum! Speaking of food, it is a long hard week, so staying healthy is super important. I started each day with a pot of Cuckoo muesli. Not only is it delicious and filling, but it is a good healthy start to the day! I also packed a bag of Popchips in my bag each day, as they make a great low fat and delicious snack, so I don’t get snackered (snacking on dreadful items because you are crazy tired!). Popchips are a delicious saviour!
This week, I wore my new Momocreatura necklace, an Orla Kiely dress, Vivienne Westwood handbag, Cleo Ferin Mercury scarf, Pretty Polly fleecy tights, Missguided dress, Clarks brogues, Jack Wills knitwear, Motel Rocks dress, Lulu Guinness handbag, Miista shoes and Pearl & Queenie Rings… Basically, I wore a lot of my favourite British brands this as it is great to support British design and British manufacturing!
