I have had a long weekend away at The Swan Hotel in the Lake District. I have been hearing about the hotel & spa for a while, as it is famous for being so beautiful and welcoming.
The Swan is a hotel and spa, it has a steam room, treatments, pool, jacuzzi and gym. I was so excited about lounging around and having treatments, however, I spent not a second in the spa as I was too busy eating delicious food in the bar and restaurant and taking long walks in the Lake District instead!
The room was beautiful, for a ‘standard’ room, there was nothing standard about it; it was beautifully decorated, spotless and came with incredible products by ESPA too! I had incredible baths, slept soundly and I was very happy in this beautiful room!
The hotel staff were really welcoming and have us so many recommendations of nearby villages to visit and walks we should do. We went the the charming town of Cartmel where they make incredible sticky toffee pudding, we visited Windermere and walked round the lake. We also claimed up trails, up hills, crossed dams and it was a lot of fun!
The food was delicious and good value, the portions were perfect after a long walk too. I loved visiting the Lake District and I loved The Swan Hotel and Spa. It was charming and beautifully decorated!
As for the dress code, well it rains a lot here, so I wore Havaiana’s wellies and a Barbour jacket and hat for walking in the day time. The restaurant in the evening was warm and homely, so smart-casual is great. It has a country feel, so floral dresses and casual shirts is good, if in doubt, girls wear anything by Joules and boys wear a Barbour checked shirt.
Enjoy the photos, and if you are planning a visit, I would recommend this hotel!
