The Tea Inspired Perfume Edit!
Bonjour my friends, it’s Sunday morning and I’m sat eating croissants and enjoying the simple pleasures of a cup of tea. Which got me thinking about the joys of a simple cup of tea and some of the amazing fragrances which have been inspired by tea, in very literal ways as well as more subtle ways. It’s time for the tea inspired perfume edit… enjoy!
Caudelie ‘Eau Des Vignes’
A fresh and subtle fragrance that which is inspired by the scents and surroundings of a moment of peace and a cup of tea in the summer gardens of the Caudelie vineyards. Sparkling bergamot meets the elegance of sweet, powdery iris and sensual white musk. Absolutely lovely, Eau Des Vignes is simple, soft and super affordable!
Miller Harris ‘Tea Tonique’
As soon as Miller Harris launched Tea Tonique, I was smitten! It’s inspired by the restorative properties of tea and gently combines the scent of black tea, earl grey and jasmine tea, all swirling around like you are a guest at an artisan tea house. It’s filled with notes of bergamot Italy, petit grain, lemon, smokey tea, nutmeg, birch and musk. It’s truly beautiful and perfect for a tea lover!
Molton Brown ‘Russian Leather’
Ah, here’s one for the boys! Not overtly tea-esque, but does include a heavy hit of black tea which mingles with notes of tobacco, charred birch, leather and vetiver. Molton Brown Russian Leather is rich, dark, smoky and leathery, it reminds me of gun shops, waxed jackets and old leather, it’s very masculine and very sexy. It’s also a really great price, £39 for a 50ml bottle is a steal for this fragrance!
Ah! Floris Chypress was released this summer and I absolutely adore it! It’s hot and Summery and filled with notes of bergamot, lemon, sweet orange, neroli, jasmine, rose, osmanthus, ylang ylang, amber, vanilla, musk and patchouli. However, it’s the dominant notes of bergamot, lemon and sweet orange which really conjure up the feeling of warm fruity and smoky teas. It’s fresh, clean, zesty and uplifting. It’s not as tea-based as the Annick Goutal or Miller Harris, but it’s definitely got that vibe!
Annick Goutal ‘L’ile au Thé’
When it comes to fine, French fragrances, Annick Goutal are the creme de la creme! L’ile au Thé is filled with notes of mandarin, tea absolute, osmanthus and white musk. It’s wonderfully true to tea, but the most perfectly crisp uplifting tea you have ever smelt! Imagine going on a year long trek and then coming home to your first cup of tea, that’s what this perfume reminds me of!
The Trade Routes Collection by Penhaligon’s is inspired by fantasy boat journeys around the world, importing and exporting and exporting the worlds’ most precious goods. From flowers to spices, silks to antiques, the collection captures a rare and exotic ingredients from a romantic period in history. Lothair is a favourite of mine, containing notes of milky fig, Red Berries, Cardamom, Bergamot, Grapefruit, Fig Leaf and black tea. Inspired by Gin & Tonics and high tea. It’s really rather lovely!
Angel Schlesser ‘Bergamota’
Inspired by the freshness of gardens; green grass, newly cut flowers, wild berries and of course, bergamot. Angel Schlesser Bergamota smells like summer days drinking earl grey tea, with hints of orange blossom and jasmine on the breeze. It’s etherial, comforting and fresh, just like the perfect cup of tea, drank in a summer garden!
…And there we have it, the Tea Inspired perfume edit! I hope you enjoyed!
