I’m so late to the party with Annick Goutal Songes. It’s been around for years and some how, I’ve only just discovered it! Although, if I’m truly honest, I wish I had found it in the Spring as it’s the most beautiful Summer fragrance. However, I’m refusing to wait until next year to wear it, or blog about it for that matter, so get ready to be transported to a tropical island! Some things are too good to save and I think there’s something nice about wearing a super Summery perfume on a cold Winter’s day to uplift the mood and remind a girl of sunnier times.
So why is Annick Goutal Songes so special? I think it’s the way it makes me feel; it’s so uplifting and joyful, it’s filled with notes of Summer fruits and tropical flowers, with a hint of coconuts, sea breeze, spice and vanilla. You might expect it to be quite girly and flirty, but it’s actually really ageless and elegant. I think it’s the hint of earthy patchouli and the blend of spices which take it from being a pretty summery perfume, into a fabulous boat ride around an exclusive tropical island whilst sipping on champagne cocktails. As always with Annick Goutal fragrances, Songes uses the finest ingredients and expert blends which give it that ‘something something’ and makes it feel so special and, well, Parisian! If you love fragrances like Guerlain Terracotta and Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, then this is one you need to try, it’s similar, but different, maybe it’s the spice? I’m not sure, but it’s gorgeous and wayyyyy too special to save for Summer!
