Hello Autumn, I’ve missed you! There’s just something about this time of year, trees are so pretty with all their burnt orange tones, the hot chocolate feels endless and everything feels wonderfully cosy! There’s nothing quite like it and I don’t know about you guys, but I just adore lighting a candle a huddling down to enjoy the season! With that in mind, let’s chat! It’s time for an Autumn Candle Edit!
Crabtree & Evelyn ‘My Lounge’ Candle
Let’s get straight into this!! The latest home fragrance collection from Crabtree & Evelyn is called the ‘Memories Made’ collection and each one is themed around a different room in the house and the thoughts, feelings and memories it evokes. The bathroom is aquatic with a fresh seaside vibe, the kitchen is herby with notes of fresh spearmint like a traditional cooking candle, and the bedroom which is filled with notes of powdery violet, iris and a hint of pink pepper. Personally, I went for the Lounge candle, which is a beautiful mix of white lilac flowers, aquatic notes, apple and dewy grass! Just lovely!
Ah! Flamingo Candles are so much fun! They are the kitschiest candle company in town and their fragrances include Cola Lollipop, Pineapple & Lime, Gin & Tonic, Raspberry & Salted Caramel and Parma Violets. They all come in cute AF jars with lollipops, cacti and flamingo motifs on them. There are so many great ones to choose from, but I’m currently loving this design, although I have no idea which fragrance it is, it’s just delicious and joyful, which is a common theme with Flamingo Candles! PS. They currently have so amazing candles on sale for just £6, they may have Easter branding on, but they smell so good I order a stack of them!!
Molton Brown ‘Russian Leather’ Candle
The latest fragrance collection from Molton Brown is Russian Leather, it’s a very masculine scent, so I’m putting this on in my ‘one-for-the-boys’ category. It’s very dark, leathery and waxy, it reminds me a little of Winter, waxed Barbour jackets and gun oil. My boyfriend loves it and I think my dad will too, it’s lovely, but a little too manly for my taste, but it’s not been created for us girls, let’s be honest!
ESPA ‘Restorative’ Candle
I’m a long time fan of ESPA as they are the brand many of my favourite spas use during their treatments, which is probably how I started using them at home. This ESPA Restorative Candle is a favourite of mine because it’s just so damn calming and comforting. It contains notes of sweet orange, lavender and palmarose. My boyfriend is also a fan of this one, it’s very spa-y and unisex, I think I have burnt my way through about 10 of these in my time!
Mugler ‘Angel’ Trio of Candles
Fans of Mugler Angel will go nuts for this trio of treats! Each one is a slightly different spin on the classic Angel fragrance, from a slightly fresher version, to delicious and sensual. My personal favourite is the latter because it’s just so damned delicious! These candles are slightly smaller than the rest of the candles in the edit, but together you get a good burn time and they look adorable displayed together in a beauty room / dressing table.
Neom ‘Tranquility’ Treatment Candle
Ah this Neom Tranquility Treatment Candle is so beautiful! It comes in the most beautiful jug shaped vessel, you burn it for 30 minutes (or more) and once you have blown it out (and waited for a few minutes for it to cool, you can then pour the oil our and massage it into skin. This isn’t your average candle, it’s a treatment candle, which means the wax is made of cocoa butter, almond oil and soybean oil, it makes a great candle and a great relaxing sleep aid. Who could ask for more?
A by Amara ‘Sicilian Lemon & Sea Salt’ Candle
The new A by Amara collection has just launched and of course I went straight for the Sicilian Lemon & Sea Salt Candle, partly because it sounded so refreshing and uplifting, but partly, because I LOVED the water-marble effect jar. I mean, just look at how pretty it is! It’s actually pretty amazing value compared to all other luxury scented candles in it’s price bracket. The jar it comes in is so pretty, it reminds me a little of my beloved Fornasetti, the matching lid is also porcelain and the gold detailing is lush. It smells every bit as lush as it looks and it’s the perfect Objet d’art for a living room / bedroom / kitchen!
Miller Harris ‘Cassis en Feuille’ Candle
I think blackcurrants are the ultimate scent of Autumn, and Miller Harris have captured it perfectly with their Cassis en Feuille fragrance and candle. It’s bursting with citrus, pear and blackcurrant, as well as geranium, leaves, vines, rose, cedarwood and musk. It’s deliciously autumnal with it’s juicy berries, green notes and earthy tones. An Autumnal essential!
Bramley ‘Rose Absolute, Spearmint & Peppermint’ Candle
This is a candle I think of as a ‘Kitchen Candle’, probably because of it’s minty notes, with an ability to cleanse the air and disperse any lingering cooking scents. This Bramley Rose Absolute, Spearmint & Peppermint candle is filled with herbavious green notes, like an English garden with clean herby mint tones in it. It’s a beautiful candle, fresh, uplifting and wonderfully green.
Annick Goutal ‘Fleur de Tiaré’ Candle
You know the smell of Summer wanderlust? Tropical florals, golden hour sun, warm sand and a hint of spas and the feel of the summer fading, well, that’s what Annick Goutal Fleur de Tiara smells like. It’s simply stunning with notes of Frangipani flower, Ylang Ylang, Neroli and Tiara flower. It’s so wonderfully pretty and it reminds me of all the things I love about summer, whilst still feeling warm, cosy and enveloping!
Elemis ‘Clarity’ Candle
Earlier this year Elemis released their ‘Life Elixirs’ Collection, a selection of five fragrances which are designed to restore balance, tranquility and bring calm into modern life. My personal favourite of the collection has to be Clarity, with it’s blend of bitter orange, spicy cardamom and warm ginger. It’s comforting, calming and feels like it brings a breath of fresh air into the soul. It reminds me of cosy evenings and well worn books, that mix between feeling really cosy and soothed, whilst learning new things. It’s unique and empowering.
…And there we have it, my Autumn candle edit! I hope you enjoyed it and please do let me know if any particularly excite you or if you have tried any of these!
