Home Renovations Update
Hello my friends! Wowzer! It feels like such a long time since I last did a Home Renovations Update blog post, it was only 6 months ago, but damn, we have done so much in that time! I mean, to put it in context, 6 months ago our hallway looked like this and now it looks like this! It’s almost unrecognisable! I don’t know if you guys remember, but we pulled the ceiling down ourselves, which is when we took the first photo and then we had workmen in to board and plaster the walls and ceiling, fix the coving, paint and rewire. The electrician also chiselled lights into the wall, fitted speakers into the ceiling, added in an access point and fitted Hive too, because y’know, turning on the heating via your phone is so much easier than doing it manually!
Be Our Guest
At the side of the house, there is an extension, which is around the same size as our entire flat was in London. We have made this into a guest apartment, but it can also be used by the main house too, depending on if we have guests or not. So it’s a living room, bedroom and bathroom, but the living room is at the side of our kitchen so it’s kind of a fluid space, it can be used as a living room for us (thanks to the adjoining doors), or it can be closed off from our house to give our guests a living space when they stay! I blogged about our living room make-over here, and the bedroom make-over here. I really should show before and after pictures at some point, because the difference is INSANE! Watch this space!
We are about to move into the final stages of our renovations and I am SO excited!!! Don’t get me wrong, there is still LOADS to do, but hopefully within 6 months we will be pretty much there! We are just about to sign off our kitchen design (more on that soon!) and we are currently working on our office space and decorating the upstairs snug. The office is looking incredible, it’s a huge room, with impossibly high ceilings and the best part is, it’s all pink with white floorboards. I cannot wait to start moving chairs, desks, art, tables and shelves in there, I’m just so excited about it! As for our snug, I have shared corners of it here, but it’s not quite finished yet, so as soon as it is, I will share photos.
Also, I just wanted to take a moment to say a big ol’ thank you to everyone for following us along on this journey! It’s been kind of overwhelming getting so many messages of love, enthusiasm and encouragement along the way. You guys are the best and it’s really spurred us on, so thank you!
