Perfumes Which Remind Me Of Sunshine!

Oh la la! It’s officially summer and I’m starting to crack open the perfumes which smell like summer in a bottle. You know the ones I mean, filled with notes of orange blossom, monoi, coconuts, frangipani, warm amber, cool waves and well, sunshine. Here are my favourite fragrances, all of which are inspired by sunny days!

 Estée-Lauder-Bronze-Goddess

Estée Lauder ‘Bronze Goddess’

This perfume has been a summer ritual of mine for the past 3 or 4 years now, I just love it! It’s utterly addictive and beautiful and when I start to get towards the end of the bottle, I try and make it last as long as humanly possible. It’s like I need to keep a little bit on my shelf throughout the winter, in case I need a spot of sunshine. Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess is filled with notes of coconut, bergamot, warm amber, tiare blossom and vanilla. Also, as part of the collection there is a body cream, make-up palette, Eau Fraiche and shimmer oil.

 Annick-Goutal-Un-Matin-DOrage

Annick Goutal ‘Un Matin D’Orage’

Annick Goutal Un Matin D’Orage is a classic Summer fragrance, it is inspired by Summer rain; Crisp and refreshing. It’s filled with notes of zesty citrus (lemon), dewy florals (gardenia, jasmine and magnolia), all on a base of warm woods and oakmoss. Mingled within, there is some lovely green notes and some spicy ginger tones which really amplify the freshness of the fragrance. Just beautiful!

 Nuxe-Sun-Delicious-Fragrant-Water

Nuxe ‘Sun Delicious Fragrant Water’

I feel like everyone knows the classic Nuxe multi-purpose oil, but not everyone knows Nuxe Prodigieux exists as a fragrance. The classic dry oil be used on your hair, body or face, and it also smells so good that women would lavish it on their skin and wear it instead of perfume. Nuxe realised this and set about recreating the scent as a fragrance. It’s a huge favourite of mine, it smells just like the body oil, but a little more luxe and more potent (notes of vanilla, coconut, tiare flowers, orange blossom, orange and musk). It’s beautiful and elegant and those who know it exists, are obsessed with it. Become one of those people!

 bob-and-eight-perfume

Eight & Bob ‘Nuit de Megeve’

When I was in Egypt I wore Eight & Bob Nuit de Megeve most days, it felt like the perfect perfume for the hot dry climate. It is filled with notes of fresh grapefruit, orange-filled Petit Grain, spicy clove, orris, black coffee and plenty of Vetiver. It’s hot, dry and grassy like scorched earth, but also has a freshness with the citrus and florals. It reminds of me of breakfast time in Egypt; Lots of fresh fruit, strong coffee, morning sun, sea breeze and dry earth. I love it!

Library-Of-Fragrance-Sunshine.

Library Of Fragrance ‘Sunshine’

If you are not familiar with the Library Of Fragrance, then listen up! They create single scent perfumes which can be worn alone, or layered up to achieve a deeper, more bespoke fragrance. For instance, maybe you like your Rose with a splash of Peony, or maybe you like something sweet like Marshmallow, but you want to add a little Bonfire smoke to give it more of a toasted marshmallow vibe. It’s all possible with the Library of Fragrance!  They have a lot of very summery, sunshine fragrances, including Pina Colada, Coconut, Salt Air and Sunshine. Wear them alone, or layer them up to create your own personal summer day in a bottle!

 Dear-Rose-Sympathy-for-the-Sun

Dear Rose ‘Sympathy for the Sun’

I first discovered Dear Rose fragrances a few years ago during their UK launch. I was instantly a fan of their simple, elegant perfumes, all of which have been created using the finest ingredients. Sympathy For The Sun captures the spirit of a woman who loves to wear flowing silks, pristine linen and sail around St. Tropez. It contains notes of jasmine petal, peony and a touch of sea salt in the breeze. It’s less beachy, more boaty!

Hollister 'Wave 2 perfume fragrance super drug summer sunshine fragrance

Hollister ‘Wave 2’

I don’t really consider myself a ‘Hollister girl’, but actually, this perfume is turning into a firm favourite! Hollister’s Wave 2 contains notes of mandarin orange, coconut, peach, lily, pink freesia, tiare flower, driftwood, sand and orchid. It’s light, beachy and filled with the scents of summer, it’s lovely! It’s also super affordable, just £32 for a 100ml bottle from Superdrug. Well worth investigating, it’s surprisingly fabulous!

Guerlain-Terracotta

Guerlain ‘Terracotta’

Whilst Guerlain have produced a lot of beautiful fragrances over the years, I always come back to this one! I just LOVE it! It’s summer in a bottle with notes of bergamot, tiaré flower and ylang ylang and vanilla. Guerlain Terracotta is just heavenly! Also as part of the Terracotta CollectionI would recommend the bronzing palette as well as Flawless Legs, both are fabulous! It’s not summer without a bottle of Terracotta perfume and the matching namesake bronzer! FYI, this was actually the worlds’ first ever bronzer!

Tom-Ford-Costa-Azzurra

Tom Ford ‘Costa Azzurra’

Finally, here’s one for the boys! The wonderful Tom Ford Costa Azzurra is inspired by Sardinia, the salty beaches, dry herbs, drift wood and evergreen trees in the not-so-distant forest. It’s filled with notes of seaweed, oud, cardamom, incense, vetiver, vanilla and oak. It’s a desert island in a bottle and it’s one of my all time favourite TF fragrances. FYI, I got this bottle from Fragrance Direct where you can get 5% off your first order!

So, there we have it, lots of delightfully Summery fragrances which smell like Sunshine in a bottle! I hope you enjoyed!
