What To Buy A Really Cool Dad!

What To Buy A Really Cool Dad!

Put it in your iCal: This Sunday is Father’s day. Personally I won’t be able to visit my parents on Sunday (let’s be honest, it’s a long ol’ way for manufactured holiday!) however, I will be surprising my pops with a package in the mail. Whilst I used to be a massive cynic of ‘created’ days like this, in my old age, I’m starting to realise that we need these little reminders to let people know ‘Hey, I’m thinking of you! Thanks for everything!’.

Lush Gift Set

Everyone loves Lush; Men, women & children! Their products are natural and handmade, so even those with sensitive skin can use them. My boyfriend thought this ‘Dirty’ set is a great gift as it contains a bit of everything; shower gel, fragrance, styling cream and shaving cream. Also, Lush get bonus points because their gift sets come pre-wrapped, isn’t that helpful!?

Wonderboom Speaker

I got a Urban Ears Wireless speaker about a year ago and it is honestly one of my boyfriends favourite pieces of tech. It can be used inside, outside and it’s totally waterproof too! He uses it when he’s watching TV on his laptop so he has better sound and he plays music and podcasts out of it pretty much every day. I can’t rave about the sound quality enough, which is why this Wonderboom Speaker is a great dad gift, it’s compact, user friendly and kind of revolutionises your on-the-go audio life.

Molton Brown Treats

Molton Brown always makes a great gift, especially for the men. Their fresh natural scents are delightful and one bottle will last weeks and weeks as their formulars are really concentrated. Their latest fragrance Coast scent of Cypress & Sea Fennel is a big favourite of mine, and my boyfriends, it has a really fresh, salty, herbacious scent to it. Perfect for kicking off the day the right way!

Acqua Di Parma ‘Mirra’

Acqua Di Parma are known for their elegant fragrances which tend to be quite light a subtle compared to other luxury fragrance houses. Mirra is their new fragrance which is exclusive to Selfridges, it’s perfect for summer with it’s notes of orange, petit grain, orange blossom, nutmeg and patchouli. It’s got a real Mediteranium feel with a heavy emphasis on orange. It’s really elegant and it’s perfect for summer!

Paul Hewitt Watch

A watch is always a great gift, thanks to being useful and stylish! Men don’t generally wear jewellery, but they do often wear watches which is why many men have a collection of them. This kind of slimline style is really fashionable right now, but there’s something about Paul Hewitt watches I really love, perhaps it’s the anchor where the ‘6’ digit would normally sit.

Roja ‘Vetiver’

If you have some cash to splash and you want to get him something truly opulent, then Roja ‘Vetiver’ is just wonderful! My boyfriend is a huge, huge fan of this brand (as am I!) and this is one of his favourite from the collection. It contains notes of lemon, bergamot, rose de mai, jasmin, cistus, pink pepper, nugmeg, cedarwood and of course vetiver. It’s warm, dry, citrusy with a dark, woody and spice base. In short it’s amazing. My boyfriend is obsessed with these fragrances and he is constantly asked what he is wearing.

Espa Grooming Products

I don’t know about your dad, but mine will use grooming products if he has them, but once he runs out, he will go back to soap and water (oh pops! Have I taught you nothing!?). So as obvious as it sounds, I think grooming products are a great gift for any dad. Personally, I love buying my dad Espa as it’s natural, gentle but effective and it smells incredible. Everything feels very ‘spa at home’ and the essential oils they contain really help to soften, sooth and invigorate skin.  Oh, they also do a great line of candles which if your dad has a home office, could make a great gift too!

Jean Paul Gaultier X Superman

This year, Jean Paul Gaultier have teamed up with Superman and Wonderwoman to create two limited edition bottles, one for him, one for her. Make your dad feel like a superhero with this super-fun Superman edition of ‘La Male’. Oh and if anyone is wondering, the fragrance is the classic scent we all know and love.

Happy Socks

Whilst buying your dad a pair of socks might seem like the most traditionally boring gift in the world, it actually doesn’t have to be. Happy Socks make wonderfully playful socks which are comfortable and great quality. They have loads of patterns and prints to choose from and they give a flash of colour between his brogues and chinos!

Neal’s Yard Remedies Skin Care

Both my dad and my boyfriend are big fans of Neal’s Yard Remedies Skin Care. All their skincare is made using organic ingredients and essential oils which leave skin feeling fresh, clean, and nourished. They deliver great results, with a element of luxury and non-nonsense approach. My boyfriend is a particularly big fan of their cleanser, it comes in a pump bottle and is perfect for morning or evening, using a the basin or in the shower. Easy and enjoyable!

Paco Rabanne X Monopoly 1 Million

Paco Rabanne X Monopoly 1 Million

If your dad wears the classic fragrance Paco Rabanne 1 Million, then this could be the perfect gift for him. This season Paco Rabanne have teamed up with Monopoly to produce limited edition bottles of the iconic scent. Personally I’m loving this gold bar inspired bottle, I think it’s such a brilliant and playful design! If you dad is a high-roller than this is a brilliant gift!

The Merchant of Venice 'Venetian Blue The Merchant of Venice 'Venetian Blue

The Merchant of Venice ‘Venetian Blue’

If you dad is more of a fresh and aquatic fragrance man, then let me introduce you to The Merchant of Venice Venetian Blue. It contains notes of apple, lime and lemon with a heart of black pepper, birch and patchouli, sat on a base of moss, ambergris and musk. It’s fresh, zesty and spicy, it’s perfect for the Summer months. It’s giving my total yachting vibes!

Aveda Hair Care

As men get older, it becomes more and more important for them to take care of their hair, or whatever they have left of it. Similarlly, if you dad rocks a shaved head, it’s important that he keeps his scalp looking health. Aveda is always a great option, they have everything from skincare, scapt treatments, protective treatments and of course, shampoo and conditioner!

Miller Harris Feuelles de Tabac Treats

Miller Harris are best known for their amazing fragrances and candles, but did you know they have expanded they collection to include a bath and body range? Personally, I adore the Rose Silene Bath oil, but I have a feeling the men will prefer the rich and smoky tones of Feuelles de Tabac as a Body Wash and Aftershave Balm. Believe me, it smells incredible!

Daimon Barber Men's Grooming Collection

Daimon Barber Men’s Grooming Collection

If your dad sports a beard, then it’s probable he puts a lot of effort into keeping it healthy and well-groomed. Daimon Barber make brilliant skin care as well as a hair pomadesshaving and beard-care products. My boyfriend has recently been using their products and he’s turning into real fan, also beard care products are not as readily available as skincare, so it’s well worth looking at these if he’s a beardy gent!

Elemis Muscle Soak

This is one of my boyfriends’ all time favourite products, it’s a super intense bath soak which really penetrates into the muscles to give relief. Elemis Aching Muscle Super Soak is a hidden treasure in the Elemis collection and perfect for any dad who likes to work out, has a pysically demanding job or just has sore joints once in a while. My boyfriend swears by this stuff!

So there we have it, my complete father’s day gift guide, massively assisted by my boyfriend!
